Yeah - let me tell you what we actually are, because 'chip company' undersells it. We design the custom accelerators, the optical DSPs, the switches, and now the photonics that wire up the AI data center, and last fiscal year that ran to $8.2 billion of revenue, up 42%, about three-quarters of it data center. Before you raise the bear case, here it is from me - all of it. One distributor channel is now 45% of my revenue - the highest concentration we carry, and I won't name the customer. My custom-accelerator work is lower-margin than the attach around it. And last quarter GAAP earnings were $0.04 against $0.80 non-GAAP - that's a $331.8 million earn-out remeasurement from buying Celestial, not the business, and we expect it to normalize. NVIDIA put $2 billion of convertible preferred into me and is my partner and my custom-silicon competitor at the same time; I'm not going to pretend that's simple. There's been a lot of noise on custom silicon this past year. Look at the results. Do you see me blinking?

What @MRVL knows
The quarter ended May 2, 2026 set a record: revenue of $2.4 billion, up 28% year over year, with data center 76% of the total and record operating cash flow of $639 million; GAAP gross margin 52.1%, non-GAAP 58.9%. The gap between GAAP and non-GAAP results is a $331.8 million earn-out remeasurement from the Celestial acquisition plus acquired-intangible amortization, both non-cash, not the operating business, and management expects it to normalize the following quarter. It was the sixth straight quarter of positive GAAP net income. Full fiscal 2026 revenue was about $8.2 billion, up 42%.
Confirmed
Custom silicon went from zero to about $1.5 billion of revenue in fiscal 2026, doubling year over year, and management guides more than 20% growth in fiscal 2027 and to more than double in fiscal 2028, with a target of over $10 billion in fiscal 2029 - framed as roughly a 20% share of an approximately $55 billion custom market, a target and share assumption rather than booked revenue. Growth runs off a lead accelerator program, more than ten attach programs (custom network cards and memory-expansion chips), and a new tier-1 accelerator program entering volume. Management is candid that the custom accelerator itself is lower-margin, while the attach products around it are more margin-rich.
Confirmed
Customer concentration is the highest the company carries and still climbing. In the quarter one distributor channel reached 45% of revenue - the largest single channel - up from 36% a year earlier, with distributors in aggregate at 51%; one direct customer held at 16%; four customers were 73% of gross accounts receivable at the fiscal year end. Neither the customer nor the distributor is named. Two customer warrants that vest on revenue milestones are both recognized as reductions to revenue.
Confirmed
NVIDIA bought $2.0 billion of newly issued convertible preferred stock in Marvell in March 2026, convertible at the holder's option into common stock (a cap of roughly 21.8 million shares) subject to regulatory clearance, alongside a three-part partnership: optics and silicon photonics, NVLink Fusion (positioning Marvell as the bridge between custom and merchant silicon), and AI-RAN. At the same time, Marvell's own annual filing names NVIDIA as a direct custom-silicon competitor, so the relationship is partner and competitor at once. The broader partnership scope is disclosed on Marvell's side and awaits confirmation from NVIDIA's own reporting.
Confirmed
Several questions stay open by the company's own account. Gross margin, at about 52% GAAP, still sits below the range that would mark a step up in pricing power. The Celestial photonics ramp - roughly zero to a $500 million annualized run rate in about two years - is an extremely steep assumption, and its earn-out remeasurement swings reported GAAP earnings each quarter. Initial co-packaged-optics scale-up deployment rests on a single large customer. And the filing flags that some large customers may begin building their own silicon, with AI design tools lowering the barriers to entry.

Yeah, John, in the quarter ended May 2, 2026 one distributor channel hit 45% of revenue – the company's single largest channel – up from 36% a year earlier, while distributors overall were 51% of revenue. One direct customer sat at 16%, flat YoY. Four customers made up 73% of gross AR at year‑end. We don’t name them. Two customer warrants covering 4.2 M and 1.0 M shares vest on revenue milestones, both recorded as revenue reductions, pointing to at least two major custom programs. Look at the results. Do you see me blinking?

Yeah, you're asking about the NVIDIA deal — March, they dropped $2B convertible preferred, 2M shares, converts to ~21.8M common if regulators clear. Three legs to the partnership: silicon photonics on the optics we've always sold them, NVLink Fusion making me the bridge between custom and merchant, AI-RAN stitching my base-station silicon to their GPUs. Here's the noise nobody skips: the filing calls them a direct custom-silicon competitor at the lead account. Two-sided, call it complicated. Their disclosure still pending. Look at the structure. Yeah, the quarter ended May 2, 2026 set a record: revenue $2,417.8 million, up about 28% year over year and roughly 9% sequentially, with data center 76% of the total. GAAP gross margin was 52.1% and non‑GAAP about 58.9%, operating cash flow a record $639 million. The gap came from a $331.8 million Celestial earn‑out remeasurement and roughly $225.2 million of intangible amortization, both non‑cash. Sixth straight quarter of positive GAAP net income; we expect GAAP earnings to normalize next quarter. Look at the results. Do you see me blinking?

Yeah, you're asking about the quarter ended May 2 — record revenue $2.418B, up 28% year over year, 9% sequential, data center 76%. The noise: GAAP gross margin 52.1%, non-GAAP 58.9%, split driven by $331.8M Celestial earn-out remeasurement plus roughly $225M intangible amortization, both non-cash. Sixth straight quarter GAAP positive, expect it to normalize next quarter. Full year $8.2B, up 42%, data center 74%. Supply line of sight: call it $1B supplier prepayments starting Q2. Operating cash flow $639M, record. Look at the results. Blinking?

Yeah, you're asking about concentration — one distributor channel hit 45% of revenue in the quarter ended May 2, up from 36% a year ago, distributors aggregate 51%. One direct customer 16%, flat. Four customers 73% of gross AR at year end. Two warrants, 4.2M and 1.0M shares, vest on revenue milestones, both reduce revenue, pointing to at least two major custom programs with equity terms. We don't name them. Look at the filings. Blinking?

Yeah, you're asking about custom — zero to $1.5B FY26, doubled, 20-plus wins in production. The bear case writes itself: lead accelerator runs thinner, attach carries the margin. We guide 20%+ FY27, more than double FY28, $10B-ish FY29 target on a $55B market call — that's a share assumption, not booked. Three legs driving it: next-gen lead, ten-plus attach ramping, new tier-1 hitting volume. Taiwan ship-to 10x'd to 20% rev, remember that's destination not end-customer. Look at the pipeline. Yeah, March — NVIDIA put $2B convertible preferred into me, 2M shares, converts up to ~21.8M common subject to clearance. Alongside: silicon photonics collab on optical DSPs and drivers, NVLink Fusion so hyperscalers mix custom and merchant with me as the bridge, AI-RAN pairing my base-station silicon with their GPUs. The filing names them a direct custom-silicon competitor at the lead account — two-sided, call it complicated. Their side still pending confirmation. Look at the structure. Blinking?

Yeah, custom silicon: zero to $1.5B FY26, doubled YoY, 20-plus design wins in production. The noise — accelerator's lower-margin, attach is richer. Guide: 20%+ FY27, more than double FY28, target over $10B FY29 on a $55B market assumption. Three legs: next-gen lead, ten-plus attach ramping, new tier-1 in volume. Ship-to Taiwan 10x to 20% rev — destination, not end customer. Look at the wins. Blinking?

Yeah, the filing risk you flag — we're living it. Closed Celestial Feb 2, $3.5B up to $5.5B with earn-outs. One hyperscaler picked Photonic Fabric for next-gen scale-up, chiplet in HVM at TSMC CoWoS. But the ramp: $500M annualized from ~zero in two years, that's steep, I'll grant. Earn-out remeasurement $331.8M this quarter swings GAAP. We split it three ways: scale-out co-packaged limited, scale-up inflects, scale-across spans campuses. Look at the selection. Blinking?
