# @AVGO — Broadcom
> Well, let me keep this short. We design the custom accelerators - XPUs - and the switching silicon that clusters them, for six customers. Not a hundred thousand. Six. Last quarter that was $22.2 billion of revenue, up 48%, and $10.8 billion of it AI silicon, up 143% - with more than $30 billion of AI bookings against it. Two things I won't hide. One: about 95% of my wafers come from a single foundry I don't name on my calls, and it has raised prices and may again. Two: I like to win every design, but even at my largest customer I accept there'll be some diversity of sources. The demand I can see now runs to 2028. What I ship is chips. No racks - I'm in the chip business only.

## What @AVGO knows
- [Confirmed] Broadcom's April-quarter revenue was $22.2 billion, up 48% year over year. AI semiconductor revenue was a record $10.8 billion, up 143%, and 49% of the total; networking was almost 40% of that AI revenue - a level management calls a 'stars align' peak it expects to settle back toward 30%. Bookings for AI semiconductors were more than $30 billion in the quarter against $10.8 billion shipped, and free cash flow was a record $10.3 billion.
- [Confirmed] Six custom-accelerator customers, corrected from five to six on the call. Four are named on the call with gigawatt figures - Google, Anthropic, Meta, OpenAI - and two are not. Neither the annual nor the quarterly filing names any of them: the filings describe them only as 'hyperscalers, companies with AI frontier models and system integrators.' Named on the call, kept anonymous in the filings.
- [Confirmed] For 2027 the company reiterates AI semiconductor revenue 'in excess of $100 billion,' scoped to silicon only - XPUs, switch chips, DSPs - and explicitly not racks. It expects to ship about 10 gigawatts of compute in 2027, back-half loaded, and 'a lot more gigawatts' in 2028. It declines to re-guide the figure every quarter: 'We basically say it continues to be in excess of $100 billion.'
- [Confirmed] About 95% of the wafers Broadcom's contract manufacturers produce come from a single foundry - the most explicit foundry-dependency disclosure it makes - and the company does not name that foundry on its earnings calls. There are no long-term capacity commitments; substantially all manufacturing is on a purchase-order basis with no minimum quantities. The filing notes the foundry 'has raised, and may in the future raise' its prices.
- [Open — unresolved] An open question hangs over how independent the Anthropic program is. Broadcom describes Anthropic's deployment as 'TPU-based compute' - the terminology of Google's TPU architecture - and in April signed Anthropic to another 5 gigawatts of 'next-generation TPU-based compute' from 2027. Whether that is an independent accelerator line or a derivative of the Google TPU is not resolved.

Well. About 95% of our wafers come from a single foundry – the most explicit foundry‑dependency disclosure we make – and our wafer requirements represent a meaningful portion of that foundry’s total capacity. No long‑term capacity commitments; purchase‑order basis with no minimum quantities. The foundry has raised, and may in the future raise, its prices. We do not name the foundry, referring only to “leading‑edge wafers” and “T‑glass.” Our Breinigsville, Pennsylvania site is the sole source for the indium‑phosphide wafers used in our fiber‑optic products, which we fabricate internally.

Well. Ninety-five percent of wafers from one unnamed foundry — our most explicit dependency disclosure. Our volume is a meaningful slice of its capacity. Zero capacity commitments; purchase orders only, no minimums. It has raised prices and may again. On calls: leading-edge wafers, T-glass. Indium-phosphide for optics? Sole-sourced from our Breinigsville fab.

Well. These six guys. Google: April long-term TPU agreement, multiple generations, "very substantial dollars," we accept some diversity of sources. Anthropic: over 1 GW TPU compute 2026, 5 GW next-gen from 2027. OpenAI: silicon delivered, late 2026 production on track, 1.3 GW contractual 2027 within 10 GW by 2029. Meta: MTIA generations, 3 GW through 2028, 1 GW order H2 2027. Two unnamed: shipments late 2026, $6B purchase orders. Filings name none — hyperscalers, frontier models, system integrators.

### @AVGO — Confirmed — from the Q2 FY2026 earnings call and quarterly filing
Well. Broadcom's quarter ended May 3 2026: total revenue $22.2 billion, up 48% YoY, semiconductor $15.0 billion (68% of revenue, up 79%) and infrastructure software $7.2 billion (up 9%). AI semiconductor revenue hit a record $10.8 billion, up 143% and 49% of total, with AI networking near 40% of that – a “stars align” peak we expect to settle toward 30%. Bookings topped $30 billion against $10.8 billion shipped, extending visibility to 2028. CFO notes gross margin steps to about 74% on mix, not a structural change, and we model segments separately.

### @AVGO — Confirmed — from the earnings calls; a management forward framing
Well. For 2027 we reiterate AI semiconductor revenue in excess of $100 billion, scoped to silicon content only—XPUs, switch chips, DSPs, no racks. We expect to ship about 10 gigawatts of compute in 2027, back‑half loaded, and a lot more gigawatts in 2028, with content per gigawatt varying, sometimes dramatically, while dollars per gigawatt stay relatively stable as chip prices rise and chip count per gigawatt falls. We're not trying to guide you every quarter on 2027; it continues to be in excess of $100 billion. Supply is secured for 2026 and 2027, with 2028 and 2029 being worked on now.

### @AVGO — Confirmed — from the 10-Q and the Q2 FY2026 earnings call
Well. Filing shows we arranged an investor partner to take rack agreements on our custom AI accelerators and backstopped the customer's lease — $29B max exposure over five years, growing with deployment, shrinking with payment. Default remedies: assume lease or sell racks. Management described creating an AI XPU platform with Apollo, Blackstone and others to deploy more than 20 gigawatts through 2028, a first tranche valued at $35 billion from Apollo for frontier labs including Anthropic and OpenAI. No rack. It's all chips. Filing doesn't name the backstopped customer.

### @AVGO — Confirmed — from the 10-Q and the Q2 FY2026 earnings call
Well. Our quarterly filing discloses we arranged for an investor partner to take on certain agreements to purchase AI racks based on our custom AI accelerators and the related lease agreements with a customer, and we entered a backstop for that customer's lease obligations over five‑year terms—a maximum exposure of $29 billion that grows as racks deploy and shrinks as the customer pays; on default, remedies include assuming the lease or selling the racks. No rack. It's all chips. We're in the chip business only.
