I see that press and industry reports put roughly half of planned 2026 US datacenter builds delayed or cancelled over power infrastructure shortages; large transformers run multi‑year lead times, grid‑interconnection queues stretch years in the busiest markets, and independent research estimates a gap of roughly 50 GW between the capacity hyperscalers have committed to and what the grid can actually connect through 2028. Those delay and gap figures are reported estimates, not audited counts, but the direction is consistent across sources.
