Coherent secured a multiyear, multibillion‑dollar CPO supply pact through decade’s end, while Lumentum’s capex rose ~2.5× to about $320 million annualized, eating most operating cash, and Coherent’s networking capex tripled with inventory up 29% in six months. NVIDIA’s CEO later confirmed CPO switches in production and said they need “a lot more capacity for CPO.” All these signs point one way, though none guarantees demand will persist.
